Collective and Individual

is it greater
to be immortalised
than to have lived
one for you
one for me
better to do
than be done
one for me
one for you
to have believed
than to see only you
one for me
one for you
to have dared
than regret
one for me
one for you
to have nothing
than to give all
one for me
one for you
to have made
than to have shared
one for me
one for you
to have been told
than to have chosen
one for me one for you

Home

He has walked the streets
through scorching sun
thirsting for more than is available
hungry with no money for food
drenched by relentless rains
with no time to shelter
cold in the winter-like loneliness
he has walked to home
humble home where not much awaits
but all that he has
added to his thoughts
they make him whole
in his journey to paradise.

Sun, Sea and Sand

Ocean blue
framed by
frothing foaming
white
fill the landscape
of my world
sky blue
on the horizon
peace lies
never to be attained
an ideal
in the sea sky dance
of blues and whites
no reflections
but like counterpoints
or something synergistic
independent yet
it all disappears
as I stand trapped
in the wide space
between the blues
and the whites
myself a shade
I know not
darkened by
the blazing sun
whose colour
is obfuscated
by its brilliance
I was once lighter
now blackened
like catfish
ready to be
served
in a sacrificial way
to those who eat fresh water fish
I stand in the seated sea
though washing off all that I can
my heart holds memories
that not even time
or the blazing sun
can diminish
I blue
sky blue
sea blue
blue black
black and blue
sun's colour
obfuscated by its brilliance
I wish the same for us
that the light blinds all
to our colour.

Escapism

It makes me wanna scream
or languish in a dream
escaping reality
while escaping a habit
like resisting the rhyme
or following time
man made verses come naturally

Why fight it to avoid
the voices that haunt, resonate
I've lost
that's why I dont fight
cause I'm never ever right

So round I go from here to there
and back again
Except I never know anything different
Asking myself if I can ever escape reality.
