Ocean blue
framed by
frothing foaming
white
fill the landscape
of my world
sky blue
on the horizon
peace lies
never to be attained
an ideal
in the sea sky dance
of blues and whites
no reflections
but like counterpoints
or something synergistic
independent yet
it all disappears
as I stand trapped
in the wide space
between the blues
and the whites
myself a shade
I know not
darkened by
the blazing sun
whose colour
is obfuscated
by its brilliance
I was once lighter
now blackened
like catfish
ready to be
served
in a sacrificial way
to those who eat fresh water fish
I stand in the seated sea
though washing off all that I can
my heart holds memories
that not even time
or the blazing sun
can diminish
I blue
sky blue
sea blue
blue black
black and blue
sun's colour
obfuscated by its brilliance
I wish the same for us
that the light blinds all
to our colour.
